If you have started reading these few lines, then it means that you have managed to find time to stop for a moment and take a rest
during the most frenetic and awaited week in Milan when ideas and creativity intermesh towards a not too far away future.
Most probably, many of you have just sneaked a preview of the ‘Ape’ in the ZonaTortona area and have become attracted by its project
originality or perhaps by its simplicity accompanied by the many memories that this small and ever resistant buddy for Italians carries
with it.
And what is the best way to celebrate its 60 years of life but to powder its nose?
Street Food Mobile is an idea of architect Andrea Carletti who had taken into consideration the Ape Piaggio and created a hybrid
solution that has been studied with great attention to detail, signifying a new concept of a mobile street food that is typically Italian.
A project that, with the precious collaboration of Mario Giannotti, begins with the versatility of the ‘Ape’ that is recognised universally.
Focusing on its strong points and acting as an intermediary, it can be visualized also as a vehicle that echoes and re-awakes a territorial
quality, intermixing urban reality with its rhythms and returning to its roots.
The chef Luca Luxardo, aboard the prototype #1, l'Appacciuga, will provide genuine and aromatic food from the Cinque Terre: a
delicious ‘home-made’ bread, organic butter from Varese Ligure, anchovies from Camogli, alternated with bresaola tuna fish and
salmon, with white wine from the Eastern riviera. All to be served in the new food packing designed by Chiara Moreschi.
The anonymous design ties intricately with the simplicity and quality of the Italian cusine for an intriguing project that returns to tradition
but also demonstrates the capacity to re-invent itself, strong in its roots yet faced to the future.
In an ever more dynamic society, in a world where we are required to continually re-adapt ourselves, fast moving, with new needs and
spaces ever more reduced, Street Food Mobile aims to be a format that is replicable as well as bespoke for both private or company
ventures, in which a new form of visibility and promotion can be found.
