Research is never an end in itself. All research is carried out with the view to creating something, an object, a collection.
Industreal has turned “ricercar applicando” into a highway that leads to a product though a process which involves consolidated techniques, state of the art technologies, craftsmen know-how and industrial standards of quality.
By adopting the method, which follows step by step the development of ideas jotted down by the designer, the process matures to a point where the idea becomes the desired object, imagined and finally created.
To this collective task of invention and making, Industreal has, over the years, called upon many designers from all over the world who have not only shared this philosophy but who have also created an individual and passionate interpretation of it.
Industreal is now pleased to present Overture, an introduction to the work by Ionna Vautrin and Guillaume Delvigne. Two designers who have dedicated a particularly significant part of their poetry to the creative material itself: porcelain.
Since the debut of Industreal, the work by Ionna and Guillaume has not only contributed to the growth of a organisation in which research has become a reason for being, but has also been widely acclaimed, on the same ground on which Industreal identifies itself, as a new voice of design.
We have called this exhibition Overture because it is, to all effects, an opening, a beginning which paves the way for new developments, new events. A moment of suspension and reflection that accompanies the consolidation of Industreal into a reality which is capable of interpreting design as an intention, a suggestion and transforming a thought into reality; a body of work that presents itself to the world like the opening notes of an overture.
