The question is easy: Why Plastic could never be OLD?
Why a material such important for our world to create an enormous quantity of products is “real” only when it is NEW?
Why plastic, that is so present in our lifes, cannot show signs of time and get old with us?
Those questions have been asked to art critics as Gillo Dorfles, architects as Mario Scheichenbauer, designers as Stefano Giovannoni and Graziella Tonon and antique dealers as Domenico Piva, who replied with their different opinions.
Our troupe filmed in the “Plastic Museum” of Castiglione Olona (VA), at the Forum of Omegna and in an AMSA reclycing center, showing the visual and poetic qualities of these materials.
The work will investigate on the different use of plastic elements yesterday and today, to show which is the difference in the meaning and the evaluation according to the time.
Today wood, iron, glass and other materials considered “noble” can get old, increasing their value, but plastic cannot.
The documentary-interview OLD PLAST – ETHICAL SENSE OF PLASTIC together with an exhibition of old objects, lended by the Fischio's friends, will show the beauty and the fascination of these materials, that time has eaten away.
