CeramiX = (East + West) ceramics
A series of objects in ceramic which stem from a historical reflection linked to the production of Chinese and European porcelain and ceramics in general.
Following a lengthy research and a rigorous selection process the CTRLZAK team has identified the key elements that characterise both cultures in order to present them in a new context. The results where CeramiX Art Collection & CeramiX Design Collection, two series of ceramic tableware.
The Art Collection consists of 24 unique pieces forming reassembled plates, bowls, vases and cups. Classical Chinese and European objects are brought together in an unusual mix. The selected items were sliced in half and recomposed as a whole bringing together East and West in a strong formal and contextual hybrid.
The Design Collection is composed of a plate, a bowl and a cup in white glazed ceramic designed by CTRLZAK. These objects were inspired by the process and the results of the first phase (Art Collection) embodying within contemporary forms the symbolisations of a complex past
