L'Appartamento LAGO
A large house on the first floor of a small building located next to bar Jamaica, the historic haunt for local artists is the new Lago HQ, and given the efforts involved in finding such a prestigious location, the intention is stay put for a fair few years to come.
"We were in a super rush to arrive in time with our beautiful new apartment - our home during design week...and then we stopped and asked ourselves whether it made sense to prepare a super-show home without any real 'content'...with no time dedicated in thinking about how the space will be lived in, in the coming years."
For this reason, the 14 April does not mark the completion of the project, but is merely the beginning.
A collaborative effort involving partners like Asus, Wired, Listone Giordano and many others who will be moving in, and living alongside Lago. The house will be transformed into a laboratory which engages visitors in an interactive fashion, making the visitors themselves the driving force behind our quest to create the 'home of the future'.
A special interior design has been created to accentuate this concept: white walls and white furniture - a tabula rasa upon which to create the new Appartamento Lago which will be created in the months to come. The colour will be provided by the inhabitants, the visitors, the young designers who will be present showcasing their latest projects, and of course, the millions of post-it notes used around the space.
All of these developments will be posted in real-time on the website brera.appartamentoLago.com allowing us to share our adventure with our friends online.
The apartment in via Brera is yet another step in the Appartamento Lago adventure. A project born in via Tortona and carefully nurtured for an entire year. Lago offers anyone the possibility to take up residence in this 'embassy'; a place which opens its doors and becomes a sort of 'HUB'; a place known by everyone and where interesting events are hosted on a regular basis: book presentations, dinner with artists, workshops and so on.
