KERAKOLL DESIGN
“FUORI SALONE” - MILAN FURNITURE FAIR 14-19 APRIL 2010
Naturally
In line with the concept of GreenBuilding, the new low environmental impact construction philosophy promoted by Kerakoll oriented towards improving health and quality of life, Kerakoll Design presents a range of intelligent solutions for interior design that respect the environment and are in line with sustainable development.
For the first anniversary of the Kerakoll Design Gallery, once again Piero Lissoni is responsible for the set up of the spaces using the trump cards and specificities that have made the company unique. For the duration of the Milan Furniture Fair, eco-compatible and biodynamic microsets will enrich the sober and linear spaces of Via Solferino, creating an interesting harmonious amalgam between nature and materials.
Exploring the bathroom environment, in fact, Lissoni chooses some strictly natural elements which he associates with others, recognised as archetypes identifying this space. Luxuriant foliage and lawns serve as counterpoints to transparent washbasins and brass taps with a vintage flavour, placed in small spaces covered with eco-compatible materials. In this way, with an ironic vision, Lissoni interprets the interconnections between the natural and sustainable commitment.
Contemporary surfaces that are ideal in the designing of a space such as the bathroom establish a dialogue in perfect harmony with the most immediate symbols of nature, creating dream-like micro-environments. The leaves and grass are harmoniously interwoven with the bathroom coverings and furnishings, for an up-to-date reinterpretation of a garden in winter, almost a primitive rethinking of Eden.
Kerakoll proposes a complete and innovative range of eco-compatible products to a demanding, informed and aware public, offering a new construction philosophy providing considerable advantages for safeguarding the environment, for our own health and that of the planet, added to which are the positive economic aspects, thanks to greater energy efficiency.
The microsets are made of a material called cementoresina®. Invented and produced by Kerakoll Design, it is an advanced compound for surfaces and architecture offering superior performance characteristics and great versatility in projects; it is usable for applications in residential and commercial environments and for large surface areas.
Cementoresina® combines the high performance characteristics of resins with the aesthetic quality of cement and is ideal for continuous surfaces with innovative designs, low environmental impact and high durability over time. Consisting of a mixture of new-generation resins of high purity and without solvents, cementoresina® is a totally neutral material with ultra-low emission of volatile organic compounds (VOC) that guarantees healthy spaces, created respecting well-being and the environment.
The material is DIN EN ISO 846 certified, and so is totally solvent-free and therefore ideal in eco-sustainable projects; it is produced in accordance with the regulations limiting energy consumption and the impact of the production process on the environment. In fact, as required by European Directive 2004/42/CE, cementoresina® does not emit quantities of volatile organic substances that are harmful to people and the environment.
Cementoresina® is extremely versatile and is an excellent solution for horizontal and vertical applications; being easily mouldable, it can also cover curved surfaces. It can be applied both onto new cement surfaces and on top of existing floors of all kinds. It can also be used in the creation of architectural elements of large dimensions, not least the ten thousand square metres of the Maxxi in
Cementoresina® has a neutral appearance with a solid natural, slightly mottled effect typical of cement coloured with natural pigments. It is available in five colour collections - Warm, Cool, Whites, Nature and Mixmatch - from whites to neutrals, from warmer to cooler tones, to louder ones, and five textures - Flat, Wave, Glass, Crete and Velvet - in line with the most modern tendencies of contemporary home design.
Kerakoll Design is also present at Fuori Salone inside the Boffi showroom in via Solferino 11.
Kerakoll has specifically designed the flooring and the wall covering of the bathroom with Crete-Wr04; the kitchen’s walls, on the other hand, are covered in Velvet-Wr06. Both materials are presented in the warm grey version. The floors of the upstairs flat are all in Cementoresina continuous surfaces Wave-Wh01 – most pure white; whreas the bathroom walls have been covered in Glass-Wr01 (very pure, warm white), and the guest bathroom in Wave-Wh01
