“L’Abbraccio” of Le Fablier and Gaetano Pesce
A preview of the new Le Fablier collection designed by Gaetano Pesce.
Milanwww.lefablier.com. In short, it was a cooperation proposal between her company, leader in the industry of classic furniture and Gaetano Pesce, a designer renowned for his pioneering spirit. Michela Barona’s project was to create a new furniture collection breaking away from the rigid paradigms of minimalism – about to breathe its last – and able to convey the warmth of a caress and the sensuality of an embrace. To this unusual but creative and highly inspiring proposal Gaetano obviously responded with curiosity and interest. This was the birth of the “L’Abbraccio” collection, presented at the Salone d’Onore of the Triennale. The collection comprises six kinds of furniture: a table, a chair, a sideboard table, a cupboard, a bookcase and a wardrobe. Although it is off-the-shelf furniture, each piece is crafted so that it has unique features. Materials include polyexpoxide, polyurethane resins, hard foams and wood. The first three are key elements in Gaetano Pesce’s language through materials, while wood has earned Le Fablier its success and world renown. “L’Abbraccio” is classic and contemporary styles coming together and celebrates today’s fusion trend, with facts, events, thoughts, behavior and actions no longer being expressions of “consistency”, “monolithicity”, “repetition” “stiffness” “linearity”, “standardization”, “masculinity”; on the contrary they have all become signs of “multidisciplinarity”, “coexistence”, “elasticity”, “unpredictability”, “fluidity”, “femininity”,…. .Innovation implies a radical change in the values that effectively represent the complexity of our time. Notwithstanding individual judgment, credit must be given toLe Fablier and Michela Barona for experimenting, establishing a bond between our conventional identity and the one that is to come, for exploring, trying and betting on a future made of non-repetitive, ever-changing, unique values just like each piece of this collection made of encounters, discovery, color and affection. In these stormy times Le Fablier expresses confidence and hopefulness that will probably set a new course and open up a new design prospective.
