HUMAN Vs ANIMAL-VEGETABLE
The association D.O.C – Dergano Officina Creativa,
has organised a circuit under Fuorisalone in the Dergano-Bovisa area managed by 10 workshops in association, which explore the animal and vegetable world together and as for their controversial relationship with mankind.

HUMAN Vs ANIMAL-VEGETABLE
Officine Creative often discuss this theme of inexhaustible concern: our animal and vegetable worlds seem to be living in harmony, while the only problematic element seems to be man because of his controversial relationship with both.
We explore the animal and vegetable worlds in their complex relations with man who tends to transform and redesign in his own image the elements present in our world, while at the same time constantly seeking reconciliation, an emotional fruition of the latter, a harmonious approach in view of joint collaboration rather than exploitation.
This coming together will appear under the exhibition circuit D.O.C in the form of:
- a garden of colours deriving from dying plants at the workshop of Arte & Natura;
- ‘animalier ceramics’ at the workshop Ceramiche Puzzo;
- small elements of ‘desk field’, unusual garden animals and country views in ceramics at the workshop Ceramiche Libere!;
- ‘moth clothes in vintage silks’ at the workshop of Caira Design;
- small homes for animals in recycled paper at the workshop of CeeBee;
- ‘MAGIC GARDEN’ of small sculptures inspired by nature and its movements at the workshop of EfestoArt;
- carnivorous plants made with materials from theatre costumes used for design purposes at the workshop of TIIS;
- elements of furnishing treated with animal and vegetable materials at workshop 1380;
- seats, small tables and bookshelves with animal skin linings and skeletons of strange animals at the workshop of Lorenzo Crivellaro;
- animals & vegetables from the savannah for decorations at the workshop of Jole Prato & Carlo Giordana;
With a view to setting up collaboration and synergy with similar creative activities present in the district, this year the Circuito FuoriSalone D.O.C 2010 is involved also with Consorzio Politecnico di Milano Facoltà Del Design, MADE Production Company and THEBAGARTFACTORY.
Together with Politecnico di Milano Facoltà Del Design, is here presented D.O.C/Design for local development–5 projects arising from collaboration and D.O.C with POLI.design, under the Master course in Strategic Design 09/10. “Our Master has accepted with enthusiasm the challenge of a local Association such as D.O.C Dergano Officina Creativa, in order to reconsider relations with local needs and highlight local creativity, as a visible motor of development in the district in order to become a matrix of identity locally.” On the occasion of Fuorisalone 2010 there will be realised and installed new designs for street signs created under the Master in Strategic Design for Creative Workshops.
MADE Production Company is a prestigious film production company which is partner of D.O.C with a view to promoting firms and areas of excellence in the district of Dergano-Bovisa. During the Circuit of Fuorisalone D.O.C some young talents from cinema training schools will be shooting locally in order to record local ferment in the design week.
TheBagArtFactory arose from the wish to set up in Milan a business of artistic energy, that was dynamic and open to any kind of aesthetic approach, a window for new urban artistic activities, a workshop of art which through its "production" could become the criterion for analysis of modern society and the local area. During the circuit of FuoriSalone 2010 D.O.C the artists of TheBagArtFactory offer their reflections on ‘impossible designs’ and installations that are widespread in the district.
In order to revive the area one has to leave it, from this conviction arose their participation under D.O.C with Atelier del Riciclo where the next edition of SWAP DESIGN will also offer a temporary shop D.O.C.
D.O.C CIRCUIT
Exhibitions/events:
· At each D.O.C workshop is to be exhibited its proposal for the theme of HUMAN Vs ANIMAL-VEGETABLE by making up a circuit of local exhibitions;
· During the FuoriSalone will be published and distributed a useful new map of the
· Local food & drinks traders, friends of D.O.C will offer special menu & tasting events
HUMAN Vs ANIMAL-VEGETABLE.
· These will also be organised and promoted during a series of collateral events.
COLLATERAL EVENTS
As well as proposals under D.O.C’s plan there will be present a number of guest artists, designers and architects who will enrich and complete the approach of ‘local talents’, intending to transform the design week of FuoriSalone Dergano-Bovisa into an area of creativity.
The artists of THEBAGARTFACTORY, will have an active part during Circuit FuoriSalone 2010 D.O.C with local installations intended to involve local people and not just those with a professional interest. There will also be presented at their premises, in via Cevedale 5, a collective exhibition by artists of B.A.F. dedicated to their particular views on design.
MADE Production Company
Here will be an information point and group exhibition area for several exhibitions and events under D.O.C; at the spacious location of MADE Production Company, such as a theatre for publicity films, documentaries, videoclips and full length films and at the division of MADEvents in Via Carnevali 24 is to be set up:
· A Press Point D.O.C
· A collective exhibition of products HUMAN Vs ANIMAL-VEGETABLE from the workshops,
· An exhibition of projects done in collaboration with Consorzio POLI.design
· An exhibition by Associazione AD ARTE
· A personal exhibition by Arch. Ugo La Pietra, who is again supporting the project D.O.C
· A video installation by MADE.
