Design: Emanuel Gargano _ Marco Fagioli
The Anima kitchen project recalls places such as craftsmen and mechanical workshops, it is made of dynamic materials and spontaneous gestures that echo primordial architecture.
The volumes embrace the surrounding space, become protagonists and disappearing.
The large central body contains a motorized accessory integrated cabinet that can be lifted up showing all the utensils used in the preparation, cooking and washing of food, as if it were a blacksmith’s or carpenter’s bench.
Technology contains technology, thus losing its purely stage value, creating a stronger relation with the adjacent area of the kitchen. The double-sided integrated cabinet can house, within a single space, not only kitchen utensils but also elements used in living areas such as monitors, Dvd/Cd readers and a mobile bar.
The vertical handle has been designed as a removal of matter, being incorporated drawn into the door depth highlighting the 45° angle of the joint between the top and the door.
The big worktop is again a continuous, functional strip, a light, decisive sign of a formal, rigorous operation creating a large working area.
PROFESSIONAL PROFILE OF DESIGNERS
Emanuel Gargano - Marco Fagioli
Both studied at the Superior Institute for Art and Industry in Urbino (1994-1998) and after a training period spent in some European towns (especially in London with Claudio Silvestrin) they set up a design studio in Umbria where they work in Industrial design, graphic design and architecture.
They are strongly attracted by monastic areas consisting of light and material and by all spontaneous forms of rural architecture.
Their designs are based on direct experimentation with materials, used both as a viewing and as an expressive tool.
They are currently working on designing private residences, window-dressing, communication projects and most of all, new design products for Scholtès and Binova Kitchens.
