On the occasion of the Fuori Salone Alessandro Franco Jordão and Kiko Subrino of the ´Mãos Contemporary Art´ studioput on a stage the exhibition “Paradise Beach (Copacabana)” in the rooms ofSuperstudio Più, via Tortona, Milan.
As emergent stars of the Brazilian design, defined by Casa Vogue Brasil and by Arc design as the two new Campana brothers, Jordão and Subrino propose a new project of contemporary art: two-dimensional and three-dimensional playful, funny and interactive shapes in a colourful and luminous set, inspired by the lively, vital and highly imaginative spirit that has characterized the Brazilian culture ever since.
The two designers mainly work with plastic to create objects for a comfortable and cosy environment able to amuse and make people happy.
Alessandro Franco Jordão and Kiko Subrino – Biographies
The two designers have been together in this stimulating and creative duo for several years, although they both have carried on an intense individual activity too.
Alessandro Franco Jordão studied plastic arts at the Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado – FAAP in São Paulo from 1997 to 2000. Later, he integrated his formation by attending seminars and workshops at the Domus Academy in Milan and at Louvre in Paris.
He has organized numerous personal exhibitions and has been present in many collective shows in Milan, Paris and Brazil. In particular, from 1998 to 2008 he participated in the Salão Internacional Decoração, Arquitetura e Design – São Paulo.
Kiko Subrino’s formation in plastic arts took place from 1991 to 1995 at the Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado – FAAP and later at the Faculdade Santa Marcelina. He then followed different specialization courses and seminars at the Musée d’Orsay and at Louvre in Paris. His professional experience is marked by numerous international exhibitions, too, from Sweden to France and Belgium. In 2008 he participated in the Green House Furniture Fair of Stockholm.
