Milan – Fuori Salone 2009: etimodesign presents some  furnishing items signed by the architect Diego Collareda at the Nhow Hotel, Via Tortona, 35.

Set up in 2006, Etimodesign represents the natural evolution of Diego Collareda’s professional business. “Each thing must be able to excite who lives it. In architecture everything is discovery, research, excitement. Above all in design an item must be encouraged, observed, touched. Each thing represents itself, but it can also be something else, an object, a sculpture, o simply a way of being.

The source of inspiration of one’s own symbol is what history has left us, a detail that nature has gifted us with, a man-made item, the detail of a body.” The production signed Etimodesign has been based on this way of thinking, according to the root of the latin word  etimo, it comes from the origins, from the root of things. Among the latest furnishing offers, the bookcases Su and Suline are the synthesis of the infinite repeating of the antique roman outline, while the set of the floor lamp Mantide, with its sensual and seducing shape, reminds us of a religious mantis. Both the bookcases Su, devised as a vertical totem, and the horizontal Suline ,are based on the repetition of the same element with diverse inclinations, and made of folded plate coated naturally or with powder, available in different colours. The fulfilment of the ideas are assigned to selected businesses of top professional quality that perfectly unify the concept with the use of high technologies as well as a deepened research and experimentation. Today another architect, the Lebanese Rabih G. Ghanem, supporter of the concept of design not as an idea but as its evolution, co-operates professionally in Doha Qatar.
