The main event of Jannelli&Volpi at Fuori Salone 2009 in Milano, is highlighted this year by the cooperation of the designer Diego Grandi, who designed and planned the new exhibition space on behalf of the company. The headquarter is Jannelli&Volpi located in Via Melzo - Milano and the concept embraces themes such as ‘creation’ using traditionally-made, and home-made effects using Jannelli & Volpi wallpaper. In this way we may change the space from actual to imaginary (meaning they are interchangeable) and vice-versa: the re-use of the current, its modern realization, the focus on recycling and eco-sustainability. In a modern domestic environment presented as a messy, casual, untidy space, walls live thanks to the overlapping of new materials which lead one to reconsider their role. Traditional objects such as stairs, cans, rolls, boxes and stagings comprise the symbolic sculpture which is the centerpiece of the JV Store Gallery. The temporary nature of things and their continuous transformation thanks to recycling. Food is relevant here as it connects words, objects and environment, and is the central character on the long rustic table produced using Jannelli & Volpi wallpaper and Rapoxy. Food will be interpreted by ‘Il Castello Ricevimenti’ Natural food, home-made, simple in its complexity, displayed as in the old-fashioned grocer’s shops where the ingredients were chosen by pointing at them and wrapped in brown paper; the same ingredients will be mixed, separated, broken down and then combined by Paolo Franchi’s able hands, passionate chef of Il Castello Ricevimenti (www.ilcastelloricevimenti.it); he will interpret with his sensibility the wishes of the guests and of all people who want to experience not only a taste sensation.
