ORTOFABBRICA, a project by Angelo Grassi, begins with the idea of a space – an “orto”, or a vegetable garden – where various kinds of creative production - architecture, product design, fashion, art – may plant their seeds according to a comprehensive model of style and life quality. Each of he craftsmen/women involved will give his/her own reading of a common feeling, a feeling that revolves around simple and practical elements rather than superfluous and superficial ones and that operates with a particular focus on materials, form, innovation, in other words for the affirmation of precise ethical values.
The production of the whole event will rely on the vegetable garden’s various elements. Design pieces, clothes, shoes, artworks, landscape architecture proposals, food and wine: by reflecting in its own way the same ideal of elegance, quality, style, dignity and eco-sustainability, each of these elements will contribute to a self-defined eco-system.
Ultimately, ORTOFABBRICA will try to create a transversal fusion of different creative and production languages sharing the same intent of rehabilitating the values that make life pleasant, full, comfortable.
For over thirty years, Angelo Grassi has worked in the fields of set design and production and exhibition and museum design, constantly cooperating with the Superintendency for Historical and Art Heritage of Bologna and with high-profile figures of the fashion and art world. He produces his own range of furniture and objects entirely crafted with eco-friendly materials.
